Norwest Eye Clinic is committed to your safety.
We are strictly following the guidelines set out by the Department of Health with regard to social distancing and business hygiene in this difficult time.
All patients are screened for COVID-19 exposure risk before their appointment time.
Tell staff immediately if you have
(1) Symptoms including fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat
(2) Been overseas, to Melbourne or a Sydney hot spot in the last 14 days.
(3) In contact with someone who has returned from Melbourne or a Sydney hot spot recently or have been asked by the Department to isolate following a possible exposure.
(4) In contact with a COVID-19 positive person, or
(5) Awaiting COVID-19 test results
Appointments have been spaced to minimise exposure and risk to patients and staff.
We limit one support person per patient.
Our waiting room area is reorganised to ensure a 1.5m separation, and is regularly sanitised.
All staff are subject to twice daily temperature checks and use surgical masks.
On arrival to Norwest Private Hospital please go to ground floor for temperature checking.
On arrival in the clinic all patients and support person are screened for fever and complete a COVID-19 assessment questionnaire to aid in contact tracing. This is not a Covid-19 test as this requires a swab.
Hand sanitiser is readily available within locations in the clinic.
UNIVERSAL PRECAUTIONS are meticulously adhered to in the examination rooms.
Tissues, bins and hand sanitisers are located on our coffee tables throughout the waiting space to ensure regular access by all patients.
We have removed all magazines from our waiting room. Disposable cups are available at the water drinking station.
Norwest Eye Clinic is continuing to look after urgent patients. We are accepting new referrals for urgent matters such as increased ocular pressure, retinal detachment, sudden loss of vision, flashes and floaters and eye injuries to name a few. For patients with conjunctivitis it is recommended that they attend their local public hospital emergency.
